Advanced Network Systems, Inc.

Advanced Network Systems (ANS) has in the past provided the NSF funded national network and currently provides several network access points for the current Internet backbone. ANS provides the MHPCC with a T3 (45 Mbps) data communications path to the US mainland and a 10 Mbps link into the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ANS management staff will contribute their expertise towards guiding the MHPCC in the efficient use of its network connectivity and future upgrades to OC3 and OC12 using ATM/SONET.

Carnegie Mellon University Imaging Group

The Image Processing group affiliated with the Computer Science Department has a national reputation in developing software tools for image information processing. CMU provides an affiliation with the Pittsburgh Supercomputer Center, an NSF sponsored computing center.

The CMU group has worked with the University of New Mexico staff to port Khoros and Adapt to the MHPCC system. CMU has provided a post-doctorate position in Computer Science to act as a senior User Services consultant and will provide a second senior person in FY95.

Cornell Theory Center

The Cornell Theory Center is one of the 4 NSF supercomputer centers and currently operates a 512 node IBM SP2 node system. MHPCC and CTC staff will share experiences gained working with similar systems through technical conversations and partnership in presentations at meetings and conferences.

CTC management personnel will also participate in the MHPCC Board of Partners and Technical Advisory Board to contribute expertise in Center management and guide MHPCC research directions.

Environmental Research Institute of Michigan

ERIM is a major image processing software developer and high performance computing and communications contractor for the Department of Defense and other agencies. They also bring experience in classified processing. ERIM provides two senior level User Services consultants to the MHPCC and is expected to port various software products to the MHPCC parallel enviroment.

IBM Corporation

IBM currently provides two experienced staff to the MHPCC, one of whom serves as the MHPCC Associate Director for Systems and Operations, and the other as Senior Systems Analyst for the Center. In addition, IBM provides a host of valuable consulting activities associated with its world class laboratories.

Maui Economic Development Board

The Maui Economic Development Board was instrumental in creating the climate which encouraged the funding of the MHPCC. The MEDB has been awarded separately, a grant to assist the MHPCC in commercial marketing of the Center.

Numerical Algorithms Group, Inc.

Numerical Algorithms Group, Inc. is a major international software vendor, involved as lead and contributing partner in numerous R&D activities. NAG provides two staff to the Center: the User Services Associate Director and a User Services consultant. NAG also provides the Center with its numerical software libraries and other software products.

SETS Technology, Inc.

SETS Technology, Inc. is a leading DoD technology contractor in Hawaii, possessing experience in classified operations and the development of image processing tools and other software. Additionally, SETS Technology provides personnel services, employing many technical and support staff for the Center. SETS Technology activities will involve the porting of various software applications to the Center's parallel environment, software development and the establishment of an Oahu presence for the MHPCC in FY95.
